How to use the chain saw and maintenance tips

Chain saws are one of the most widely used and most frequent power tools in mechanical products. Because it has very sharp serrations and is used for high-speed cutting of wood, it requires strict safety precautions when using it. Xiaobian summed up a series of chainsaw use methods and maintenance tips and precautions to share with you.

1, the correct use of reliable lubricants

It is recommended to use high quality, environmentally friendly saw chains and guide oils, such as lubricants with high resistance to aging and rapid biodegradation. If the anti-aging ability is low, the lubricating oil is easily resinized, and hard precipitates which are difficult to remove are formed, particularly on the chain drive member, the clutch, and the saw chain. In severe cases, the oil pump will be stuck. In addition, waste lubricating oil should not be used. Waste lubricating oil does not have the required lubricating ability, and repeated exposure to waste lubricating oil may cause skin cancer, and waste lubricating oil may also damage the environment.

2, always keep the chain lubricated

The lubrication of the chains and guides is extremely important for the use of chainsaws. The technician said that the saw chain must always have a small amount of lubricant to be pulled out, and never work without the saw chain being lubricated. If the chain runs dry, the cutting tool will soon be damaged and cannot be repaired. Therefore, be sure to check the lubrication of the chain and the amount of oil in the tank before starting work.

3, often check the tension of the saw chain

The new saw chain needs to be tightened more frequently than a saw chain that has been in use for a long time. Generally, in the cold state, the saw chain is engaged on the lower side of the guide plate but can still be pulled by hand along the guide plate, indicating that the tension is correct. After reaching the operating temperature, the saw chain expands and begins to relax. Do not allow the drive link on the underside of the guide to come out of the guide, otherwise the chain will fall off. Tighten the chain again if necessary. When cooling, the chain will shrink. At this point, loosen the saw chain, otherwise the crankshaft and bearing will be damaged. Krepp Chain Saw adheres to the selection of the best accessories, with imported Origen saw chain, greatly reducing the damage of the saw chain and extending the life of the chain saw.

4, do not ignore the details

During the use of the chain saw, there are several operational details that require special attention from the user.

First, when starting the chain saw, pull the starter rope to the end. Gently pull the starter handle by hand until it stops, then pull it quickly and press down on the front handle.

Secondly, after the engine has been running for a long time with the maximum throttle, it needs to be idling for a period of time in order to cool the air flow and release most of the heat in the engine. This will prevent thermal overload of the components (ignition, carburetor) installed on the engine.

Again, if the engine power drops significantly, it may be due to dirty air filters. Remove the carburetor cover, remove the air filter, remove any dirt around the filter, and separate the two parts of the filter, clean the filter with the palm of your hand, or blow it clean from the inside out with compressed air. When reinstalling the air filter, remember to check that the damper and torsion spring are in the correct position.

5, the late maintenance is timely and thorough

The maintenance of the chain saw is the focus of the chain. A properly maintained and sharpened saw chain can be easily sawn into the wood with very little pressure. During routine maintenance, pay attention to check for cracks and broken rivets on the chain link. Replace any damaged or worn parts on the chain and match the new part with the same shape and size. Carbide saw chains are particularly resistant to wear.

For long-term storage of the chain saw, empty the fuel tank and clean it in a well ventilated area. Always run the engine before the carburetor dries to prevent the carburetor diaphragms from sticking together. Remove the chains and guides, clean them, and spray with anti-rust oil. Thoroughly clean the implements, especially the cylinder cooling fins and air filter.

Finally, everyone must understand the importance of the chain saw operation, but the most important thing is to do it. Any irregular operation and untimely maintenance may cause certain safety hazards.
